Resume of Duy Bui

Duy Bui
Freelance Software Engineer

About

Besides my major at college being Information Assurance and Security, I also have expertise and experiences in Software Development, particularly Web-application Development. Throughout of working with numerous projects of various types, I have developed the ability to quickly pick up new languages, libraries, platforms, etc. and especially to thoroughly understand existing code. I'm not actively looking for new opportunities but generally interested in positions that allow me to apply my background in security into the software development cycle to make the final products more secured, e.g. technical analyst, system architect, coder, and security assurance specialist. Remote positions are much more preferred.

Duy's always learning new things - many times our team would be looking at how to solve a problem and Duy would suggest a new technology that he'd looked into - he's just that curious. He designed and implemented several key systems that are still used in AWS Security today, and he was always available to help anyone else to get up to speed or solve problems on them. And he's always thinking about how things will work for customers - we were going to deprecate an old service because there's a much better way to solve the same problem, and Duy said "but it's hard to use" so he created a web app to introduce people to the new system complete with a step-by-step migration guide. He was a great asset to my team at AWS.

Duy is the best software engineer I have ever worked with. He learns new technologies effortlessly. He is the kind of employee who can get up to speed on a project and start being productive on day one. An independent worker who takes pride in his job, he has the experience and vision to execute on ideas. He is equally comfortable building prototypes or robust & secure production systems. His creativity and work ethic enable him to take on any new challenge. Also a great teammate and a nice person to be around. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Have worked with Duy on multiple projects and would recommend him to any team that faces tough deadlines. He was always able to solve our toughest problems to meet client requirements. Cannot say enough about his software development expertise or leadership skills. Looking forward to working with him on future projects!
