Analysing neural time series as a brain and cognitive neuroscientist and language in all its complexities as a linguist taught me the power of python (e.g. numpy, scipy, pandas, matploblib, keras, nltk, spacy, word2vec/FastText) for making sense of complex pattern in large amounts of data. Contributions to open source projects (such as scikit-learn) showed me the value of good software engineering practices – including version control with git and test-driven development. Now I am lucky to work with teams of great software developers and machine learning engineers, leading them in building exciting machine learning applications, while coordinating various priorities and stakeholders, technical and non-technical.
