I have been working with Blaine on the same (or very similar) projects for the last 3+ years. During that time, I have come to respect and rely on him for a number of things. Blaine is the most focused thinker I have ever met. He is extremely good at keeping meetings and discussions focused on the main topic. He is a problem solver who focuses his energy on execution. He is the "go to" guy on our team for all things unix and/or linux. I have saved myself weeks of work (that I otherwise would have had to do) by leveraging work that Blaine has already done on something similar. I have used generic scripts he created (for his own use) to save me effort and time on almost every project I've worked on in the last couple years. I have seen Blaine work nights and weekends to try and keep projects he was responsible for on schedule when new requirements or new discoveries would have otherwise caused us to miss deliveries. Blaine is a technically strong engineer, passionate about his work, a good communicator, helpful and generous with his time. He will be a great asset for any team he joins in the future. If you have a chance to work with him, take it.
