Work

Rope Access Equip Ltd

Internal Development and Retail Administrator (Part-Time)

Sep 2019 - Sep 2021

This role focuses on improving the business' profitability and customer experience. To do this, I have developed tools and systems to improve efficiency and workflow within the business. I used PHP, JS and SQL to create an internal website which hosted tools and allowed integrations between Brightpearl, Shopify and Scurri using their respective APIs. Projects included developing a shipping API that served customers with customisable shipping rates, creating workflows in Brightpearl based on webhooks, and making a dashboard for staff packing orders. This position was created for a colleague and me by the director of the company. He saw our potential when we worked as shop staff, and gave us the opportunity to work in a more technical position reporting directly to him. I worked 2-3 days per week while studying but this varied based on holidays and university workload.

Rope Access Equip Ltd

Shop Assistant (Part-Time)

Jul 2018 - Sep 2020

I worked in this position while studying. The business is a small retail shop selling sport climbing and professional rope access equipment. My responsibilities were to serve customers in the shop, collect and pack online orders, recieve incoming stock and to organise and tidy. As part of a small team, I had a manager and usually worked with another member of shop staff, but often I would be solely responsible for serving customers and making sure all orders were dispatched.

Dorringtons LTD

Customer Sales Assistant (Part-Time)

Mar 2016 - Oct 2016

I worked in this position while studying in 6th form. I worked Saturdays, however, once I had completed my exams, I worked full time through the summer, filling in for staff that had taken holiday. The company had 12 bakery shops between Harlow and Cambridge and I worked at the counter serving customers and in the kitchen preparing food. The size of the team would vary as I worked in different stores but would usually be myself, another staff member and the store manager. My responsibilities were to put the food out at the start of the day, serve customers, prepare their orders, close the shop, stock take the remaining food, and then clean the shop.
