• Beer Near, Personal

  A personal project which uses Open Brewery API and Google Maps API to find a list of twenty breweries nearest to the user. The results are displayed individually, sorted by distance. As the user iterates through options, Beer Near manages state and lifecycle through hooks.

• Skriftr, Personal

  A personal project to journal the process of learning a new technology or skill. Users sign up through email, then log journal entries along with a “confidence” level, resulting in a record of growth that contextualizes long term accomplishments. Skriftr uses Express server side rendering, MongoDB storage, EJS templating, D3 data visualization, and Bootstrap framework.

• Chicken Tracker, Education

  In tandem with the Psychology Department at Augustana College, designed, tested, and delivered a Java desktop program which tracks experiment subjects (chickens) on screen from a video in order to measure response to stimulation. After uploading a video in the form of an .mp4, the app automatically tracked chickens, and then users corrected errors by following movement frame-by-frame. Data was saved in JSON for persistence, and would be exported in Comma Separated Values for analysis.
