The knowledge accumulated while working on Mainframes allowed me to move my career forward, and joined Broadcom as a software developer. I currently work in an Agile development team on plug-ins and Visual Studio Code extensions for mainframe developers. I also leverage my existing mainframe knowledge to help guide the team’s plans and architecture.
Highlights
  • Development and delivery of several VS Code extensions and Zowe CLI core functionalities and plug-ins

Expanded my system management skills into the area of Mainframe platform. I had the opportunity to learn and practice on various operating systems such as z/VM, z/VSE and z/Linux.
Highlights
  • I was part of the team that successfully performed a z/VM system upgrade. I worked closely with external parties to prepare the system and also did various checks after the fact.

OpenVMS Systems Administrator
I started my IT career as an OpenVMS systems administrator. In this role I managed VAX, Alpha and Itanium servers for several clients across the globe (NA, EMEA, APAC) and was given the opportunity to learn all the facets of server administration.
Highlights
  • Trainer: Project - IBM Critical and Niche Skill Development Program for OpenVMS. This project aimed to ensure an organized knowledge share process for OpenVMS skills.
  • Redesigned and centralized daily system checks with improved automation scripts. Helped drastically reduce time and manpower needed for these actions.
  • Certification: Systems Administrator HP OpenVMS v8.
  • Helped interview and train for junior positions in the team.
